Jayme Davis brings up an issue that I have been interested in for some time about SQL Compare Tools (in particular looking at Red Gate).

I reviewed Red Gate recently when I needed to sync a dev database with a test database for a project I was working on.  In the past, I have done a lot of this by use of my own scripts to create the data schema changes (and remove inconsistencies) as well as populate missing data.  I tried Red Gate's products, and overall, they seemed to work well.  I had a few errors, though, that I didn't investigate further at the time.  I was sorta in crunch time, and finished the sync with my own tried-and-true script methods.

I am also interested in anyone else's experience with Red Gate, or other tools.
