Software Security Consultant Robert HurlbutRobert Hurlbut has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (1990) from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Cyber Security (2020) from Southern New Hampshire University. Robert is a Microsoft MVP for Developer Security / Visual Studio and Development Technologies and holds the (ISC)2 CSSLP security certification. Robert has 30 years of industry experience in software development, software architecture, and software security architecture. He has served as a project manager, director of software development, and chief software architect for several projects. He speaks at user groups, national and international conferences, and has provided training for many companies. As of November, 2021, Robert is working full time with a small consulting company and is no longer available as an independent consultant.

Robert is a co-host with Chris Romeo of the Application Security Podcast

Robert is involved in several community groups:

  • Group leader of the Boston .NET Architecture Group which meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at the Microsoft Offices in Burlington, MA (NOTE: We have been meeting virtually since April, 2020)..
  • Group leader of the Amherst Security Group (Meetup) which meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday in Amherst, MA (NOTE: We have been meeting virtually since April, 2020).
  • Member of the organizing team of the Boston Code Camp
